Prismatic Evolutions ETB: 9 Packs and a Beautiful Eevee Promo

What's inside the Prismatic Evolutions Elite Trainer Box, why the set has no booster box, and how the ETB stacks up against the premium Eevee collections.

In this guide 8 sections

The Prismatic Evolutions ETB is the most straightforward way into the Scarlet & Violet era’s Eevee-focused special set. Prismatic Evolutions arrived on 17 January 2025 with Eevee and all eight of its Evolutions in the spotlight, and the Elite Trainer Box pairs nine booster packs with a full-art Eevee promo and a complete kit of play accessories. Here’s what you get, what to look for, and who it suits.

Prismatic Evolutions ETB (Elite Trainer Box) from the Scarlet & Violet special expansion
Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Prismatic Evolutions Elite Trainer Box

This guide covers the box itself. If you’re weighing it against other ways to open the set, skip ahead to the comparison section, where the Elite Trainer Box is lined up against the two premium Eevee collections in our range.

What’s inside the Prismatic Evolutions ETB

Every standard Prismatic Evolutions Elite Trainer Box follows the familiar Scarlet & Violet ETB recipe, with an Eevee-shaped twist. The official contents are:

  • 9 Prismatic Evolutions booster packs, each with 10 cards and 1 Basic Energy
  • 1 full-art foil promo card featuring Eevee (SVP 173)
  • 65 card sleeves
  • 45 Energy cards
  • A player’s guide to the expansion
  • 6 damage-counter dice and 1 competition-legal coin-flip die
  • 2 plastic condition markers
  • A collector’s box with 4 dividers
  • A Pokémon TCG Live code card

The nine packs are the main event, but the accessories are what separate an ETB from a plain stack of packs. Sixty-five sleeves will cover a full 60-card deck with a few spares, and 45 Energy cards give a newer player enough basics to build that deck straight out of the box.

The Eevee promo card

The exclusive promo is Eevee SVP 173, a full-art foil card illustrated by Makura Tami that the official announcement describes as illustration rare-style. It’s a Black Star Promo, so it sits outside the 180-card set list, yet plenty of collectors file it next to their Prismatic Evolutions binder pages anyway. The Pokémon Center edition of the Prismatic Evolutions ETB holds 11 packs and two copies of this Eevee, one carrying the Pokémon Center logo.

Why there’s no Prismatic Evolutions booster box

Prismatic Evolutions is a special expansion, the fourth released during the Scarlet & Violet Series, and like most special sets it never came in a 36-pack booster box. Its packs reach you inside other products instead: the Elite Trainer Box, a six-pack Booster Bundle and larger collections. That makes the Prismatic Evolutions ETB the closest thing to a default way of opening the set.

If you usually grab a full box at the start of each main expansion, our guide to choosing a booster box explains why special sets work differently. For a box-sized quantity of packs, the Prismatic Evolutions 36-Pack Bundle is the nearest alternative.

Chase cards to look for in your packs

The headline pulls are the Eeveelutions. Eevee and its eight Evolutions (Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon and Sylveon) all appear as Stellar Tera Pokémon ex, and every one of them also has a special illustration rare. The set’s top chase card is Umbreon ex 161/131, with Sylveon ex 156/131 and Eevee ex 167/131 among the other Eevee family favourites.

  • 32 special illustration rares: Pokémon ex and Supporters, numbered 144 to 175
  • 5 gold hyper rares: Iron Leaves ex, Teal Mask Ogerpon ex, Walking Wake ex, Pikachu ex and Terapagos ex
  • 12 ultra rare Supporters, including Atticus, Mela and Tyme
  • 6 ACE SPEC Trainers, such as Prime Catcher and Maximum Belt

There’s a second collecting goal hiding in the lower rarities. Common, Uncommon and Rare Pokémon cards come in Poké Ball and Master Ball pattern parallel foils as well as the regular parallel foil, and Common and Uncommon Trainers get a Poké Ball version. Those patterns are one reason a Prismatic Evolutions ETB opening can feel rewarding even when a pack holds no big hit.

Prismatic Evolutions ETB vs the bigger Eevee collections

The Elite Trainer Box sits in the middle of the Prismatic Evolutions line-up. Here’s how it compares with the two premium boxes we carry:

  • Prismatic Evolutions ETB: 9 packs, the Eevee SVP 173 promo, sleeves, Energy, dice, markers and a storage box. The best fit if you want to play as well as collect.
  • Prismatic Evolutions Super-Premium Collection: launched 16 May 2025 with 15 packs, a full-art foil Eevee ex promo (SVP 174), a fuzzy Eevee deck box, a playmat featuring Eevee and its Evolutions, and 65 sleeves featuring the same family.
  • Prismatic Evolutions Premium Figure Collection: launched 26 September 2025 and built around a display figure, for fans who want a shelf piece as well as packs.

Put simply, the Super-Premium Collection gives you more packs plus an Eevee playmat and deck box, while the Prismatic Evolutions Elite Trainer Box is the more complete starter kit for building a deck, thanks to its Energy cards, dice and condition markers.

Standard ETB or Pokémon Center ETB?

The Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box adds two extra packs and a second Eevee promo with the Pokémon Center logo. Our listing follows the standard nine-pack contents described above, so everything in this guide applies to the box you’ll find on the product page.

Who the Prismatic Evolutions ETB suits

Because it mixes packs with accessories, this box works for several kinds of fans:

  • Eevee collectors who want the promo and a sturdy box with dividers to organise Eeveelution cards by type
  • New players who need sleeves, Energy and dice to start a deck around the set’s Stellar Tera Pokémon ex
  • Gift givers after a self-contained present that’s ready to open and play on the day
  • Returning fans who loved the Eeveelutions of Evolving Skies and want a newer Eevee-focused set

If you only want to rip packs and already own plenty of sleeves and Energy, a pack bundle may suit you better. If you want one tidy box that covers the promo, the packs and the play kit, the Prismatic Evolutions ETB is hard to beat.

Tips for opening your Elite Trainer Box

  1. Sleeve big hits straight away. Put special illustration rares and gold cards into a sleeve before they touch the table.
  2. Check every parallel foil. Poké Ball and Master Ball patterns are easy to miss at a glance, so tilt each foil under good light.
  3. Use the dividers. Sort cards into Pokémon, Trainers and Energy, or by Eeveelution type, so the collector’s box doubles as storage.
  4. Protect the promo. The Eevee promo isn’t in the packs, so sleeve it as soon as you open the box.
  5. Track your progress. Numbers 001 to 131 make up the main set and 132 to 180 are the secret cards, which makes gaps easy to spot.

For a deeper look at the set itself, the Prismatic Evolutions page on Bulbapedia lists every card, and the Eevee SVP 173 entry covers the promo’s release details.
