Pokémon Perfect Order: 124 Cards and 4 Brilliant New Mega ex
Everything to know about Pokémon Perfect Order: four new Mega ex, how the 124 cards break down and where the set came from in Japan.

In this guide 9 sections
Pokémon Perfect Order is the third main expansion of the Mega Evolution series, released in English on 27 March 2026. Officially titled Mega Evolution—Perfect Order (ME03), it holds 124 cards and introduces four Mega Pokémon ex, led by the Legendary Mega Zygarde ex. This guide walks through what is in the set, how the rarities are laid out and where the cards came from in Japan.

New to the series? Our Mega Evolution guide explains how Mega Pokémon ex work. The short version: they bring big HP and strong attacks, but your opponent takes three Prize cards when one is Knocked Out. Pokémon Perfect Order keeps that formula and wraps it in a compact set themed around Pokémon Legends: Z-A and its setting, Lumiose City.
What is Pokémon Perfect Order?
Pokémon Perfect Order is a main expansion with 88 cards in the numbered main set and 36 secret rares numbered beyond it. Like the other main sets in the series, its booster packs contain 10 cards plus a Basic Energy. That makes it smaller than the 188-card Mega Evolution base set, but it still runs the full ladder from Commons up to a Mega Hyper Rare.
The Pokémon Company’s launch announcement says the four Mega Evolution Pokémon in the set were first seen in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and Bulbapedia describes Pokémon Perfect Order as the first main set based on that game. Here are the headline facts:
- English release date: 27 March 2026
- Set size: 124 cards (88 main set + 36 secret rares)
- Mega Pokémon ex: Mega Zygarde ex, Mega Clefable ex, Mega Starmie ex and Mega Skarmory ex
- Other Pokémon ex: Decidueye ex, Salazzle ex, Lapras ex, Yveltal ex and Meowth ex
- Japanese source set: Munikis Zero (M3), released in Japan on 23 January 2026
Four new Mega ex lead Pokémon Perfect Order
The big draw of Pokémon Perfect Order is its quartet of Mega Pokémon ex, all making their English debut here. Each one appears as a Double Rare in the main set, and each gets at least one full-art Ultra Rare in the secret section. Three of the four go further again with a Special Illustration Rare.
Mega Zygarde ex
Mega Zygarde ex (047/088) is the set’s mascot. It is a Basic Fighting-type Mega ex, so it can be played straight onto the Bench without evolving. It is also the only card in Pokémon Perfect Order printed four times: Double Rare 047, Ultra Rare 104, Special Illustration Rare 120 and Mega Hyper Rare 124, the top card in the set.
Mega Clefable ex, Mega Starmie ex and Mega Skarmory ex
Mega Clefable ex (Psychic) and Mega Starmie ex (Water) are Stage 1 cards that evolve from Clefairy and Staryu, both of which are in the set. Each has a Double Rare, an Ultra Rare and a Special Illustration Rare. Mega Skarmory ex is a Basic Metal-type Mega ex with Double Rare and Ultra Rare versions only, so there is no Skarmory Special Illustration Rare to chase in Pokémon Perfect Order.
The other five Pokémon ex
Alongside the Megas sit Decidueye ex (Grass, Stage 2), Salazzle ex (Fire, Stage 1), Lapras ex (Water), Yveltal ex (Darkness) and Meowth ex (Colorless). Meowth ex is the standout for collectors, with a Special Illustration Rare at 121. Lapras ex is the odd one out: it appears only as a Double Rare, with no full-art version anywhere in the set.
How the 124 cards are structured
The main set runs from 001 to 088 and contains 67 Pokémon, 18 Trainer cards and 3 Special Energy cards. Grass is the deepest type with 12 Pokémon, followed by Fighting with 11. Everything numbered 089 to 124 is a secret rare. If you want every card with its number and rarity, see our Perfect Order card list.
- Main set: 44 Commons, 24 Uncommons, 11 Rares and 9 Double Rares
- Illustration Rares (089–099): 11 Pokémon, including Rowlet, Clefairy and Espurr
- Ultra Rares (100–117): 8 Pokémon ex and 10 Trainer cards
- Special Illustration Rares (118–123): 4 Pokémon ex and 2 Supporters
- Mega Hyper Rare (124): Mega Zygarde ex
Those counts match the official breakdown of 11 Illustration Rares, 18 Ultra Rares and six Special Illustration Rares. With only 36 secret rares, Pokémon Perfect Order is far more manageable to complete than a 250-plus card expansion, which is a big part of its appeal.
Trainers, fossils and Lumiose City
The Trainer line-up leans into the Lumiose City theme. There is a Lumiose City Stadium and a Lumiose Galette Item, plus the Supporters Jacinthe, Naveen and Tarragon, all characters from Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Jacinthe’s partner Pokémon in that game is Clefable, a neat link to Mega Clefable ex. Rosa’s Encouragement and Judge round out the Supporters, and Core Memory is the set’s only Pokémon Tool.
Fossil fans get Antique Jaw Fossil and Antique Sail Fossil, which pair with Tyrunt and Amaura. Both of those Pokémon are Stage 1 cards here, leading to Tyrantrum and Aurorus. The main set closes with three Special Energy cards at Rare: Growing Grass Energy, Rocky Fighting Energy and Telepathic Psychic Energy.
One detail worth knowing: four Trainers appear only as Ultra Rares in the secret section, not in the main set. They are Energy Recycler, Forest of Vitality, Sacred Ash and Wondrous Patch. Familiar staples such as Poké Ball, Pokémon Catcher, Crushing Hammer and Energy Search are in the main set at Common.
The Japanese source set: Munikis Zero
Pokémon Perfect Order adapts its cards from the Japanese MEGA expansion ムニキスゼロ (Munikis Zero), set M3, which launched in Japan on 23 January 2026. The official Pokémon Card Game page lists five cards per pack and names Mega Zygarde ex and Mega Starmie ex among its new Mega ex. Bulbapedia records 117 cards in the Japanese set, with the main set numbered to 080, and 30 packs per booster box.
We list the Japanese box as the Japanese MEGA Nullifying Zero M3 Booster Box. Japanese cards are printed in Japanese and numbered differently, so they won’t fill gaps in an English binder, but many collectors like owning both versions of a favourite card.
Ways to open Pokémon Perfect Order
The Pokémon Company released the set in booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes and various collections. The two products most people weigh up are a full box and an Elite Trainer Box.
- Booster box: the Perfect Order Booster Box holds 36 packs. Our Perfect Order booster box guide covers box breaks and storage.
- Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box: the Perfect Order Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box has 11 packs, two full-art Tyrunt promos and a full set of accessories.
- Standard Elite Trainer Box: 9 packs and one full-art Tyrunt promo (MEP 070). Our Perfect Order ETB guide compares the two editions.
Who Pokémon Perfect Order suits
Collectors who enjoy Pokémon first discovered in Kalos will find plenty here, from Tyrunt, Amaura and Hawlucha to Honedge, Klefki, Espurr and Dedenne. Fans of Pokémon Legends: Z-A get Trainers and a Stadium straight from Lumiose City, and anyone chasing Mega Zygarde ex has four versions to track down.
Players get a Basic Mega ex in Mega Zygarde ex, a fresh set of Supporters and three new Special Energy cards. Set completionists get one of the friendlier checklists of the series: 124 cards, a single Mega Hyper Rare and just six Special Illustration Rares. If you are new to sealed products, Pokémon Perfect Order is a sensible place to start because the set is easy to understand at a glance.
