What Herald of the Arcane does on the table
Viktor’s Legend turns spare resources into extra bodies. For 1, you exhaust the card and put a Recruit unit token with 1 Might into play. One little Recruit rarely wins a fight by itself, yet a steady stream of them gives a Mind and Order deck more units to send towards battlefields and help hold them, which is exactly where Riftbound points are earned.
A signature Viktor for the display case
Origins runs to 298 cards, so slot 308 is already overnumbered, and the asterisk marks this Viktor 308*/298 as the signature version of his Herald Legend. It belongs in a dedicated Viktor binder, on a Zaun-themed shelf or among a full set of Origins Legends.
Being a Legend, the Viktor 308*/298 could lead a deck too, though many collectors would rather keep an asterisked Herald cased than shuffle it game after game. The Herald of the Arcane Alternate Art deserves a snug inner sleeve and a magnetic holder to keep its face free of scuffs.
Cards that suit a Viktor token deck
Viktor isn’t the only Legend here that builds a board from tokens: Azir – Emperor of the Sands, a Calm and Order Legend from Spiritforged, makes 2 Might Sand Soldiers on turns you play an Equipment. A swarm of 1 Might Recruits also pairs well with Soraka – Wanderer (signature version), an Order Champion Unit that saves smaller allies from dying, and Mind players can compare the Ezreal-tagged Prodigal Explorer Legend.
